New year resolutions- Much ado about initial Gra Gra

Hahahahahahaha!!!  The new year resolution of a notable nigerian celebrity i'm following on twitter, had me rolling on the floor. I could almost hear her high pitch voice go ratatatatatatata!!!! As she unleashed a barrage of incantations for 2013. For security reasons (i can't fight ooo) amongst others, i won't quote her. Let's just suffice it to say that a lot of  people who read her tweet would either scoff at her, or be disappointed when she starts showing early signs of not living up to her resolution.
Such is the case of many Nigerians who get caught up in the festivities and general new year i-service. Like a horny man making promises to his reluctant wife, we build castles in the sky for ourselves, only to get disappointed when the moment of clarity dawns.
Please people, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying it's not good to set high standards for ourselves, i'm only appealing to our sense of  foresight and self preservation. A wise man once said,' careful the words you say, so they don't taste bitter when you have to eat them'.
Indeed, only person we truly owe an explanation is ourselves, so we shouldn't look back at the end of the year and start stuttering when  our conscience opens a case.
I wish you all a wonderful year ahead. Remember, the only way to achieve your dreams is to wake up. Ciao!!
